Chamber music

Much sought after pianist Katharina Selheim has played with a number of renowned artists, among them soloists, prizewinners of international competitions, members of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, the Lower Saxony State Orchestra Hannover, the Essen Philharmonic Orchestra and many more.

Her versatile repertoire of chamber music includes duets with violin, viola, violoncello and contrabass as well as piano chamber music in larger ensembles, such as piano trio, piano quartet and quintet.

Since her youth, Katharina Selheim has played in different formations of chamber music. In 1994 she performed in public for the first time with her father, cellist Friedrich-Jürgen Sellheim in Porto Carras, Greece. A year later she won not only the first prize for her solo piano performance but also one of the first prizes for piano accompaniment at 'Jugend musiziert' - a prestigious German competition for young musicians.

By now Katharina Selheim has played concerts with artists like the contrabassist Nabil Shehata, winer of the ARD-music competition, with Stefan Picard, violin and Nils Mönkemeyer, viola.

She also is a member of the established ensembles Duo Sellheim (with her brother Konstantin Sellheim, viola) and since 2009 of Trio Mondial with Yana Deshkova, violin and Matthias Hehrmann, violoncello.
